  • RUWMOneSmallThing –  Have you heard of MIRA, the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition? If you don’t know them you should!  MIRA supports our immigrant community and works to further public policies that support them.  This week’s #RUWMOneSmallThing, one small thing you can do that will make a difference, is to help support their campaign for the Safe Communities Act.  All you have to do is text SAFEMA to 52886 and follow the instructions for a quick, easy way to email your legislators! That’s it! Have a few extra minutes to spare?  Take a moment to visit MIRA’s Facebook page and learn more about them.

  • Tell the EPA to clean up its act – submit a statement to the EPA before the October 5 deadline. Our nation’s clean car standards protect our air and save consumers money at the pump, but Donald Trump and EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt want to weaken these lifesaving guidelines. This decision reverses years of public input, dialogue with experts, and negotiations with automakers designed to ensure realistic and achievable standards for car manufacturers. Take action: Submit a public comment and speak out against Pruitt’s latest effort to undermine our health and environment using this link.
  • Tweet at NFL corporate sponsors – and ask them to support players who are choosing to take the knee. Wall-of-Us noted that as NFL owners and players rushed to defend their right to protest in the wake of President Donald Trump’s criticism of players taking the knee during the national anthem, one group of stakeholders has remained largely silent the league’s corporate partners. They provided this list of NLF corporate sponsors and asks that we tweet at them and ask them to publicly support their players when they #TakeAKnee.
  • Sign this petition – from to help Puerto Rico by moving FEMA into meaningful action, cancelling Puerto Rico’s massive debt, and permanently ending the Jones Act. You can add your name here.
